For the lighting portion of this project, all the inefficient lighting in the food service and dining areas was replaced. These new fixtures reduced the wattage necessary and improved the illumination of the space. The HVAC portion of the project upgraded the air handling unit system that serves the dining and lower level of the building. This upgrade included replacing pneumatic controls to direct digital controls and installed variable frequency drives on the air handling unit itself. The estimated annual savings due to this project is $50,000 (FY12 rates).
