This project retrofitted the existing light fixtures in the older half of the building to use higher efficient T8 fluorescent lamps. This increased the quality of light out of the existing light fixtures as well as decreased the amount of energy needed to power them. As you can see in the above pictures, we were able to take out half of the lamps and get the same amount of light! We retrofitted 1,070 fixtures throughout first, second, and third floors, and this reduced the connected power by 58%!
In addition to the updated light fixtures, we also installed new occupancy sensors in offices, classrooms, conference rooms and restrooms. The estimated annual savings is $32,500 (FY14 rates).
